Recently, the year has passed since the start of the Government-initiated program “Available drugs”. The government program is designed to provide vital medicines for people with asthma, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Over the course of the year, more than 6,000 pharmacies, as well as leading pharmaceutical companies in Ukraine, became the participants of the program, which recorded growth in production due to the program’s activities.

The employees of the institution also provide advice to the applicants on the procedure, grounds for obtaining free of charge or with a small surcharge, as well as the names of the active substances subject to reimbursement of the program.
In accordance with the government decision, the Government Contact Center arranges conducting foresight studies through a telephone survey of applicants who are turning to the government’s hotline. Recently, a study was conducted on the effectiveness of the Government program “Available drugs”. The experts of the Ministry of Health took part in the development of questionnaires with answers variants. The results of the survey showed that there is a high demand in the society for the program, the Government’s implementation of the mechanism has the potential to meet the needs of all those who need protection from diseases that have the greatest impact on the health and longevity of people or significantly reduce the quality of life.
